Anna Scheese, 99, formerly of Lansford, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, January 23, 2019 in Weatherwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Weatherly. She was the wife of the late Raymond Scheese who passed away November 05, 1979. Born in Summit Hill, she was the daughter of the late Wash and Mary (Rinko) Danko. She was employed as a sewing machine operator for many factories throughout the area until retiring. She was a member of St. John Byzantine Catholic Church, Lansford where she was involved in all church functions including the Rosary Society and the Ladies Guild. Mary was also part of the cooking and fundraising crew in St. John’s making dozens of Pierogies and Cheese Poplanoks. She loved making Pysanky Eggs.
Surviving is a son Raymond and his wife Marsha of Warsaw, Missouri; a grandson Scott and his wife Rebekah of Loveland, Colorado.
A Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 28, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. in the Sverchek-Blazosky Funeral Home, 340 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, with Rev. Vasyl Chepelskyy officiating. Interment will be held in St. John Byzantine Cemetery, Summit Hill. Call Monday morning 9-10:00 A.M. in the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers donations will be accepted in her name to the church c/o the funeral home. The Sverchek-Blazosky Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
