Joan Theresa (Shigo) Shober

Joan Theresa Shober , 79, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest surrounded by her loving family Thursday, September 13, 2018 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp. She was the wife of the late Thomas P. Shober Sr. who passed away July 2, 2013. Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Yacapsin) Shigo. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley, Summit Hill. She was one of the founding members of the Nesquehoning Knee High Football Association, a P.V. Cheerleading Advisor, and a member of the Democratic Club.  Joan was a loving and caring person as she was considered to be a “second” mom by many.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are sons Tom Jr. and his wife Marie of Barnesville, Ted and his wife Ann of Absecon, NJ, and Joe and his wife Dee of Palmer Twp.; daughters Teri wife of the late Paul Yurick Jr. of Summit Hill and Pat wife of Greg Pecha of Nesquehoning; sisters Marie Reis, Audrey Damiano, and Margaret “Peggy” Farole and her husband Danny all of Nesquehoning; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, September 17, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley Church, 462 W. Ludlow St. Summit Hill PA with Rev. Allen Hoffa Officiating. Interment will be held in Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown. Call Sunday 6 to 8:00 P.M. in the church and Monday 9:30-10:30 A.M. with a Eulogy at 10:45 A.M. all in the Church.
