Andrew T. “Hogan” Major, 89, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest Monday, December 26, 2022 in Maple Shade Meadows Assisted Living Center, Nesquehoning. He was the husband of the late Angela L. (Rose) Major who passed away May 4, 2011. Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late Earl and Mary (Wargo) Major. He was employed with the PBNE Railroad Bethlehem Steel. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a former member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Nesquehoning and was a  member of St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley. He was a graduate of Summit Hill High School. Hogan enjoyed his trips to the casino, his rub off tickets, and watching the Philadelphia Eagles.

Surviving are a daughter Jennifer and her wife Trish Lankay of Allentown; a son Daniel DeSimone and his wife Karen of Lewes, DE; sisters Regina Rose and her husband Pat of Nesquehoning and Joan Orsulak of Lansford; and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Graveside Service will be held Monday, January 2, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. in  Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Nesquehoning with Rev. Robert George officiating. Donations will be accepted in his name to the Carbon County Animal Shelter, 63 Broad St., Nesquehoning, PA 18240. Online condolences at www.blazoskyfh.com.
