Anna “Amy” S. Kmetz, 95, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest Friday, January 20, 2023 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Miners Campus. She was the wife of the late Joseph Kmetz who passed away August 6, 2003. Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late George and Anna (Michalic) Svok. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John Slovak Lutheran Church, Lansford and a former member of the Hauto Fire Company Ladies’ Auxiliary. She was a graduate of Coaldale High School Class of 1945 where she was salutatorian and a drum majorette. She served on the Carbon County Board of Elections and was a participant in the Senior Olympics. Anna loved playing Bingo, doing word jumbles and watching the Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State Nittany Lions.
Surviving are a daughter Ginger Pituch and her husband Thomas of Aurora, OH; sons Joseph Jr. and his wife Eileen of Lake Hauto, Kenneth and his wife Mary of Lehighton, and John of Media, PA; sisters Valeria Butts of Bethlehem, Elizabeth Schneck of Bethlehem, and Eleanor Holland of Mohnton, PA; a brother George Svok and his wife Linda of New Hampshire; grandchildren Gregory Pituch and his wife Sarah and Thomas Michael Pituch III; great grandchildren Michael, Miranda, Leah, Lydia, and Hannah Pituch; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by sisters Olga Svok and Amelia Lisella.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in St. John Slovak Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St. Lansford with Pastor Marjorie Keiter officiating. Interment will be held in Sky View Memorial Park, Tamaqua. Call Wednesday Morning 10-11:00 A.M. in the Church. Donations will be accepted in her name to St. John Slovak Lutheran Church, Lansford. The Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home has been entrusted
