Antonina C. Plaia (nee Bochicchio) of Springfield, NJ passed away at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at the age of 82.

A viewing will be held at the Shrine of St. Therese, 15 E. Garibaldi Ave., Nesquehoning, PA on Thursday, Sept. 1st, from 10-11 AM followed by the funeral mass to be celebrated at 11 AM.  Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Nesquehoning. Antonina was born and raised in Nesquehoning, PA, the daughter of Anna (nee Graziano) and Joseph Bochicchio.  She was had resided in Springfield, NJ for many years, where she worked as a teacher’s aid for the Springfield Board of Education.

Antonina is lovingly remembered for being a gracious woman with a gentle heart.  She was loved by many and will be truly missed by those who knew her.  She is survived by her loving daughter, Mary Stoffer and her husband Jeff of Mountainside, NJ; her dear sisters, Ursula DiGilio and Anne Marie Christ, and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.  Antonina was predeceased by her parents Anna and Joseph Bochicchio, her brother Peter Bochicchio, and her nephew Charles “Chuckie” Bochicchio.
