Carol Ann Pecha
1937 - 2023
Carol Ann Pecha, 87, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, December 6, 2023 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Miners Campus. She was the wife of the late Clarence “Terry” Pecha who passed away October 26, 2023. Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late Flloyd and Helen (Solomon) Albert. She was employed as a trimmer for various garment factories throughout the area. She attended school in the Jim Thorpe School District. She was a member of St. John Slovak Lutheran Church, Lansford and was a member of ILWU. She was also a member of the former Nesquehoning Knee High Organization and a former Cub Scout Leader. Grammy was a great cook. The grandkids always walked into her house and raided her refrigerator, as Grammy yelled at them and then proceeded to pull everything out, and within 5min. would yell “come eat.” She enjoyed watching the Food Network, Pioneer Woman, and game shows. Carol also enjoyed playing slot machines at the casino, bus trips to Atlantic City, and scratch offs, but especially loved playing poker every weekend with her grandchildren. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are daughters Carol Simchak and her husband Stephen of Lake Hauto, Terry Marouchoc and her husband Gerry of Nesquehoning, and Melanie Pecha of Nesquehoning; a son Gregory and his wife Pat of Nesquehoning; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death sisters Lorraine Ott, Grace Ulshafer, Frances Wise, Edith Mertz and infant sister Marian and brothers George, Raymond, and Robert.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. in St. John Slovak Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St., Lansford, PA with Pastor Marjorie Keiter officiating. Interment will follow in Sky View Memorial Park, Tamaqua. Call Saturday morning 9-10:00 A.M. in the church. Donations will be accepted in her name to St. John Slovak Lutheran Church, 1 E.
