1927- 2022

Catherine Hedes, 95, formerly of Coaldale, entered into eternal rest Sunday, June 5, 2022 in The Palmerton Assisted Living Facility, Palmerton. She was the wife of the late Edward Hedes who passed away January 27, 1987. Born in Lansford, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Anastasia (Geusic) Roxandich. She was employed as a factory worker for the former Pat Damico’s and also worked at the Viennese Villa Restaurant and Pappy’s Mini Mart both in Coaldale. She was a member of St. Mary’s Russian Church, Coaldale where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was a graduate of Lansford High School.

Surviving are a daughter Cynthia A. Meyer of Allentown, with whom she resided until recently; a son Edward and his wife Jodi of Palmerton; a grandson Jarrad Hedes and his wife Miriam of Palmerton; a great granddaughter Sophia Hedes; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a brother George Roxandich.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 8, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Russian Church, 217 1st St., Coaldale, PA 18218 with Rev. James Weremedic officiating. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery, Summit Hill. Call Wednesday morning 10-11:00 A.M. in the church. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted in her name to St. Mary’s Russian Church or a charity of your choice.
