Charles Barron Jr. Obituary

Charles E. Barron Jr.

1946 - 2023

Charles E. Barron Jr., 77, of Jim Thorpe, entered into eternal rest Saturday, October 07, 2023 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton Campus. He was the husband of the late Jessica L. (Kachilla) Barron who passed away October 10, 2012. Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late Charles E. Sr. and Violet (Bylone) Barron. He was employed by Atlas Power Company in the nitro division for 35 years and then worked for Kovatch Inc. until his retirement. He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of Coaldale High School Class of 1963. He was an avid fisherman for many years.  When he was younger, he loved his annual fishing trips to the St. Lawrence River with his friends. Charles enjoyed his two aquariums and could sit for hours just watching his dozens of fish swim around.  He was a train buff and loved to put up his model train platform every Christmas.  He enjoyed watching the steam engine roll into the station in Jim Thorpe and marvel at its magnificence.

Attending family gatherings and all the events his grandchildren participated in brought him so much happiness.  Charles adored his family.  They were his pride and joy.  He will be deeply missed. Surviving are a daughter Lori Barron and her companion Greg Stanek of Lehighton; a brother William “Billy” and his wife Carol of Lake Hauto; grandchildren Luke Blisard and Cara McMichael; many nieces and nephews and his pet cat, Squeaky.

He was also preceded in death by sisters Ruth O’Donnell and Mary Ann Blaner.
