Clifford A. Rau

1939 - 2025

Clifford A. Rau, 85, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, April 30, 2025 in the Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehab Center, Lehighton. He was the husband of the late Joan (Wiemann) Rau who passed away November 24, 2000 and the late Myrtea (Montanez) Rau who passed away December 9, 2021. Born in Long Island, NY, he was a son of the late William and Catherine (Heizelman) Rau. He was employed as a truck driver for William Rella and Sons in Brooklyn, NY. He was also a bus driver for the Pocono Mountain School District where his students knew him as “Mr. Cliff”.  He was of the Catholic faith and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Clifford enjoyed hunting and fishing, but especially loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Surviving are a daughter Tracey Rau of Nesquehoning; a son Clifford M. Rau of Florida; 4 grandsons Clifford Rau, Charles Rau, Wyatt Argot, and Hunter Argot; 4 granddaughters Kristi LaFever, Kayla Olmo, Nicole Olmo, and Marisa Olmo; 8 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a sister Kathleen Koch and brothers Wilbur, Kenneth, and Lawerence Rau.

A Viewing will be held Monday, May 5, 2025 from 6-8:00 P.M. in the Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home, 81 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning. Interment will be held at a later date. The Joseph S.
