David J. Ciarvella
1953 - 2024
David John Ciarvella, 70, of Womelsdorf, entered into eternal rest Friday, May 24, 2024 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus. Born in Palmerton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Martha (Student) Ciarvella. He was employed by the State of Pennsylvania as a welfare case manager for 30 years and then worked as a business manager for Kelchner’s Auto, Robesonia, PA. He founded Panther Martial Arts, a karate studio that taught and inspired hundreds of students the techniques, knowledge and philosophy of Martial Arts. He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Nesquehoning. He was a graduate of Panther Valley High School. He was a lifetime NRA member and an avid recreational marksman. Enjoyed traveling, collecting antiques, and visiting and admiring different architectural buildings.
David is survived by eldest daughter Eve Mallillin of Mifflintown, PA and Naomi Lettini and Jospeh Lettini of Sacramento, CA; son David John Ciarvella II and his fiancée Evy Ayende of Schuylkill Haven, PA; grandchildren Joseph David and Alexandra Eve Lettini; sister Gina Nevenglosky and her husband Jospeh of Mountain Top; and Maggie Moo.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Patrick Ciarvella.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in the Shrine of St. Therese of Lisieux, 15 E. Garibaldi Ave., Nesquehoning, Pa with Rev. Robert George officiating. Interment will be held in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Nesquehoning. Call Friday night 6-8:00 P.M. and Saturday morning 10-10:30 A.M. in the Jospeh S. Blazosky F.H., 81 E.
