Edward F. Donahue
1943 - 2025
Edward F. Donahue, 82, of Hamilton, NJ, entered into eternal rest on August 1, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Bonnie M. (Novotny) Donahue for 59 years.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Eddie was the son of the late Mary (Biank) and Edward J. Donahue.
Eddie was a graduate of Nesquehoning High School, Class of 1960. He was employed by Yates Industries of NJ and was a member of St. Gregory the Great Church, Hamilton, New Jersey.
Eddie honorably served in the United States Army during the Cold War. He was active beyond his Army service; he attended many reunions with fellow servicemen as a proud member of the Association of 3D Armored Division Veterans.
He was also an active member of VFW Posts 3525 and 8008, the American Legion, Nesquehoning Sokol Club, and the AMVETS. He was recognized for his service and dedication to the United States with a plaque on the Veterans Wall of Honor at Washington Memorial Chapel in Valley Forge, PA.
He was a member of the Bordentown Elks Lodge 2085, NJ.
Eddie was an avid sports fan. His greatest passion was attending Penn State football games and co-hosting the #1 tailgate party in the nation with family and friends, both old and new.
Eddie loved many and the love was returned by all who had the good fortune to know him.
Surviving in addition to his wife are sons James (Deborah), Camp Hill and Brian, Philadelphia, grandchildren Morgan and Callum, brother Patrick (Louise) of NJ, sisters Mary Theresa McGorry of Nesquehoning and Lucille Donahue Richmond of Jim Thorpe, sisters in-law Betty Ann (Mike) Reed of East Stroudsburg and Nancy Carr of Mechanicsburg, and many beloved aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Eddie was predeceased by brothers in-law Donald McGorry, Francis “Woody” Richmond, David Novotny, Jack Carr, and Charles “Chuck” Wilson, and niece Sheilah McGorry.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday August 8, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. in the Shrine of St. Therese of Lisieux, 15 East Garibaldi Ave., Nesquehoning, PA with Rev. Eric J. Gruber officiating. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Nesquehoning. Call Friday morning 10-11:00 A.M. in the Church. In lieu of flowers donations will be accepted to Shrine of St. Therse, 118 N. Market St. Summit Hill, PA 18250. The Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.blazoskyfh.com.
