Elizabeth "Liz" Mikovich

1924-2023

Elizabeth C. “Liz” (Choley) Mikovich, 99, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest Sunday, June 11, 2022 in Maple Shade Meadows, Nesquehoning. She was the wife of the late George Mikovich who passed away January 03, 1993. Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter and the last of 10 children of the late Roman and Anna (Bezruka) Choley. She was employed in clothing factories in neighboring towns and later at Drigan’s Market, Nesquehoning. She was a graduate of Nesquehoning High School Class of 1941 and also served many years on the Nesquehoning High School Class Reunion Committee. She was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Nesquehoning. She was a caregiver to her family members. Liz was always very independent, hard working, active, and especially enjoyed walking the town of Nesquehoning talking with friends and neighbors along the way. She will be lovingly missed and remembered for her positive outlook on life, her independence, and most her caring nature.

Surviving are nieces, nephews and a friend, neighbor and caregiver Ronnie Kusko.

She was also preceded in death by a son Robert in 1964, sisters Mildred Pisko, Olga Rishko, Anna Sniscak, Irene Gurley, and Nancy Yanacek, and brothers Maurice, Michael, William, and Raymond Choley.

A Memorial Service will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Nesquehoning. Contributions in her name may be made to St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 141 W. High St., Nesquehoning, PA 18240. The Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home, 81 E.
