Emanuel John Roman
1935-2024
Emanuel (Manny) John Roman, 88, of Lake Hauto, entered into eternal rest, Sunday, January 14, 2024 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Miners Campus. He was the husband of Rosemary (Marouchoc) Roman. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on June 25th of last year. Born in Nesquehoning, he was a son of the late Manuel and Christina (Ricciardi) Roman. He was employed as a quality control inspector for Mack Trucks in Allentown for 35 years until his retirement in 1987. He was a United States Army Veteran. He was a member of St. John XXIII Catholic Church, Tamaqua and was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Nesquehoning. He was a graduate of Nesquehoning High School Class of 1953. He was a member of Pheasants Forever Inc, NRA, the Nesquehoning VFW post 8008, the New Columbus Fire Company, and the Nesquehoning Historical Society. He served on the Panther Valley School Board and was a former PIAA basketball official. Manny also enjoyed driving the school bus for the Panther Valley School District for many years. He had a lifelong passion for hunting and training bird dogs, but especially loved his time spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He also enjoyed boating and socializing with friends at the beach in Lake Hauto.
Surviving along with his wife are sons Robert and his wife Mary Kay of Fleetwood, PA and David and his wife Marcy of Palmyra, PA; sisters Rose “Bimbi” Rebar and her husband Robert of Nesquehoning and Laura Travis and her husband James of Hillsboro, NJ; sister-in-law Lynn Roman of Nesquehoning; grandchildren Zachary, Nicole, Allison and her fiancé Ryan, Stacy, and Tyler and his wife Alida; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by sisters Caroline Gabrick and Jeanette Sniscak and brother Joseph “Bobby” Roman Sr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in the Shrine of St. Therese, 15 E. Garibaldi Ave., Nesquehoning with Rev. Robert Finlan officiating. Military interment will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Nesquehoning. Visitation Friday 6-8:00 P.M. and Saturday 9:30 -10:30 A.M. in the funeral home.
