1932 - 2024

Eva Lazar, 92, of Lansford, entered into eternal rest Sunday, July 7, 2024 at the Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehab Center, Lehighton. She was the wife of the late Robert Lazar Sr. Born Monday, May 9, 1932 in Coaldale to the late Michael and Mary (Postitais) Firkal. She was a devoted housewife and mother. She was also employed by the former Brights Department Store in Lansford and Tobias Dress Shop in Tamaqua. She was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox church, Lansford and was a graduate of Coaldale High School Class of 1950. Eva cherished every moment spent with her family and friends. 

Surviving are sons Mark and his wife Helene of Summit Hill and Robert Jr. of Lansford; a sister Irene Toth of Coaldale; grandchildren Jeff Lazar and Courtney Lazar; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by sisters Sue Klusko, Marjorie Houser, Helen Maketa, Anna Moyer and twin sister Mary Moyer, a brother Michael Firkal and a son Michael “Mickey” Lazar.

A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 113 W. Bertsch St., Lansford with Rev. Jeff Zias officiating. Interment will be held in Sky View Memorial Park, Tamaqua. Call Thursday morning 9-11:00 A.M. in the Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church.
