Frances Mermon Obituary

Frances R. Mermon, 87, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, September 19, 2018 in MapleShade Meadows, Nesquehoning. She was the wife of the late George Mermon who passed away December 25, 2001. Born in Nesquehoning, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Martha (Stianchie) Halliday. She was a self employed hairdresser in Nesquehoning and then also worked as a cashier for the Panther Valley School District for many years until retiring. She was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Nesquehoning.

Surviving are a daughter Marcia Peterman and her husband Dr. Ambose III of Pottstown, PA; a son George and his fiancée Jennifer Mikovich of Nesquehoning; a sister Dorothy Puglisi of Lake Worth, FL; grandchildren Meryl Pedersen and Ambose Peterman IV; great grandchildren Marcia and Aurura.   

A Funeral Service will be held Monday, September 24, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 141 W. High St., Nesquehoning, PA with the Rev. Dr. Vasyl Chepelskyy officiating. Interment will be held in parish cemetery, Nesquehoning. Call Monday morning 10-11:00 A.M. in the church. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted to St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church.
