George A. Malaska
1945-2021
George A. Malaska, 75, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, April 14, 2021 after a 5 ½ year battle with pancreatic cancer in his home in New Columbus where he was born on November 24, 1945. He was a son of the late Angelo “Bearcat” Sr. and Anna (Malik) Malaska. He was employed as a forklift operator for New Jersey Zinc Company in Palmerton for 40 years until retiring in 2004. He was a graduate of Nesquehoning High School, Class of 1963. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in Korea (Peacetime). He was a member of St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley. George was also a member of the Nesquehoning VFW Post 8008, the Nesquehoning Legion, and a member of the New Columbus Fire Company.

Surviving are brothers Anthony of Coaldale and Angleo and his wife Jackie of Nesquehoning; nieces Tara and Erin Malaska of Nesquehoning; nephews Anthony Malaska and his wife Tracy and Greg Malaska and his wife Mary Kay both of Jim Thorpe; and 3 great nieces.
He was also preceded in death by a sister-in-law Marcy Malaska.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 10:30 A.M. in the Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home, 81 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, Pa with Rev. Allen Hoffa officiating. Interment with military honors will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, New Columbus. Call Tuesday morning 9-10:30 A.M. in the funeral home. All visitors attending the services are required to wear masks and follow all CDC regulations. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted in his name to the Cancer Society or Carbon County Animal Shelter, c/o 81 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, Pa 18240. The Joseph S.
