Helen (Stafiniak) Sheers, 97, of Coaldale entered into eternal rest Sunday, May 12, 2024 in her residence. She was the wife of the late Paul Sheers who passed away October 6, 2016. Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late Herasim and Eva (Chocholak) Stafiniak. She was an owner/operator of Panther Valley Agency Insurance company in Coaldale for 50 years until selling and retiring. Helen was a member of St. Mary’s Russian Orthodox Church, Coaldale where she was a member of the Ladies Aid Society.

Surviving are many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a sister Ann Slanta and brothers John, Steve, Michael and Simon “Si”.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Russian Orthodox Church, 217 First St., Coaldale, PA 18218 with the Very Rev. James Weremedic officiating. Interment will be held in Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown. A Viewing will be held Saturday morning 9-10:00 A.M. in the Church. Donations may be made in her name to the church. The Sverchek-Blazosky Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
