Janice M. (Hallahan) King
1947 - 2024
Janice Marie King (Hallahan), 77, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest Sunday, October 20, 2024, at the Paoli Hospital. She was the wife of the late John C. King who passed away October 9, 1992. Born in Palmerton, she was the daughter of the late John B. and Mary K. (Kashlak) Hallahan. She was employed as an Office Manager for the Physician Assistant Program at the former Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science and then later at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She attended Nesquehoning Schools and graduated from Panther Valley High School, Class of 1965. She furthered her education and graduated from Millersville University with a degree in Library Science and a Master’s Degree in Education. She also earned a Doctor of Metaphysics Degree. She loved dancing, reading, playing the piano, and astrology. She also enjoyed cheering on the Yankees, Villanova Wildcats, Patriots, and the Rutgers men’s soccer team. She was a huge fan of Mickey Mantle.
Surviving are a daughter, Alexandra King and her husband James Bilotta of Downingtown; a son Derek King of West Chester; a brother Richard Hallahan and his wife Daria Marie of Bethlehem; a niece Natasha, a nephew Nicholas and several cousins.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. in St. John Orthodox Church, 9 W. Railroad St., Nesquehoning, with Protopresbyter Peter Paproski officiating. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery, Nesquehoning. Call Friday night 6-7:30 pm with a Panachida service at 7:30 P.M. in the funeral home and Saturday 9-10:00 A.M. in the church. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted to St. John’s Orthodox Church. The Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
