Joseph R. “Bobby” Roman Sr., 77, of Nesquehoning entered into eternal rest Thursday, March 8, 2018 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Miners Campus. He was the husband of Madelynn “Lynn” (Fusco) Roman. They celebrated their 45th Wedding Anniversary on August 19th of last year. Born in Nesquehoning, he was a son of the late Manuel and Christine (Ricciardi) Roman. He was employed as an inspector for Mack Trucks in Allentown for 35 years until retiring in 1999. He was then employed as a park ranger for Mauch Chuck Lake for 18 years. He was a United States Army Veteran. He was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Nesquehoning and now a member of St. Joseph Parish of the P.V., Summit Hill. He was a 1958 graduate of Nesquehoning High School where he excelled in football and basketball. He was also a member of the Nesquehoning Conservation Club, Nesquehoning Democratic Club and was a former Nesquehoning Little League Coach. Bob was an avid hunter and loved going on cruises.
Surviving along with his wife are sons Joseph R. Jr. and Matthew both of Nesquehoning; sisters Rose “Bimbi” Rebar and her husband Robert of Nesquehoning and Laura Travis and her husband James of Hillsboro, NJ; a brother Emanuel and his wife Rosemary of Nesquehoning; a furry grand dog Mia; many nieces and nephews; and many great nieces nephews.
He was also preceded in death by sisters Caroline Gabrick and Jeanette Sniscak.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 12, 2018 at 12:00 P.M. in the Shrine of St. Therese at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 15 E. Garibaldi Ave., Nesquehoning with Rev. Allen Hoffa officiating. Interment will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Nesquehoning. Call Sunday 6-8:00 P.M. and Monday 11A.M.-12:00 P.M. in the church. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted to the Nesquehoning Conservation Club, 111 Park Ave., Nesquehoning, PA 18240 or OLMC Inc., 23 West Garibaldi Ave., Nesquehoning PA 18240. The Joseph S.
