Julia H. Collura
1928 - 2021
Julia H. Collura, 93, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest Friday, November 26, 2021 in her residence. She was the devoted wife of the late Sylvester Collura who passed away on October 5, 1999. Born in Lansford, she was a daughter of the late Mike and Mary (Kadlec) Trichak. Julia was a graduate of Lansford High School, Class of 1945. She worked as a seamstress for Kay Jay Pants in Nesquehoning for 25 years until retiring. Julia was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Nesquehoning and now of St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley, Summit Hill. She served for a time as a volunteer at Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital in Lehighton. Julia, known to some as the “bingo queen”, enjoyed bingo, watching Yankee baseball, reading and working puzzles.
Surviving are a daughter Cecilia Collura-Eberhard and her husband John of Salisbury Twp. PA; sons Joseph and his wife Alice VanDyke of Tunkhannock, Dr. Michael and his wife Christina (Vassallo) of West Haven, CT, James and his wife Diane (Gawlik) of Nesquehoning, and John of Penn Forest; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by sisters Bernadine Phillipeck, Mary Schools, Cecilia Geusic and a brother Michael.
