1929 - 2023

Julia Hallahan, 94, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Greenwood Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, Tamaqua. She was the wife of the late John Hallahan who passed away December 21, 2011. Born in Nesquehoning, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Andreosky) Madock. She was employed as a seamstress for several garment factories in Nesquehoning until her retirement. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, Nesquehoning, where she devoted countless hours of her time helping and cooking for all church fundraisers.

Surviving are a step son Richard and his wife Daria Marie of Bethlehem; a step daughter Janice King of Nesquehoning; nieces Sandra, Marilyn, Lucille, and Jacqueline; nephews John and Craig; 4 step grandchildren; and 2 step great grandchildren; and several cousins.

She was also preceded in death by sisters Mary Case, Helen Stickley, Anna Timko, and Kathryn Arena, brothers John and Joseph, and nephews Richard and Warren.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 9 W. Railroad St., Nesquehoning, PA with Rev. Jeff Zais officiating. Interment will be held in the Parish Cemetery, Nesquehoning. Call Wednesday morning 10-11:00 A.M. in the Church. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted in her name to the church.
