Kenneth W. Hankey Sr.
1934-2021
Kenneth W. Hankey Sr., 87, of Summit Hill, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, September 1, 2021 in St. Lukes’s Hospital, Miners Campus. He was the husband of the late Mary Beth (Podlaseck) Hankey who passed away February 21, 2020. Born in Coaldale, he was the son of the late Edwin and Grace Robertshaw. He was employed as an electrical engineer for the Ford Motor Company in Lansdale for over 34 years until retiring. He was a United State Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a member of Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, Summit Hill where he was a deacon and very active in all church activities. Ken enjoyed fishing and camping but most of all cherished the time spent with his family. He also loved his cats.
Surviving are daughters Michele Cinicola of Lansford, Judy Sist of Mahoning Valley, and Maureen Mitchell of Coaldale; a son Kenneth W. Jr. of Coaldale; a twin brother Curtis Hankey of Florida; a sister Gloria Bensinger and her husband Wayne of Tamaqua; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and several cousins.
He was also preceded in death by a sister Doris Knowles and a grandson William Juliano.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Donations will be accepted in his name to Carbon County Friends of Animals, 77 W. 13th St., Jim Thorpe, PA 18229.
