Louis S. Slakoper, 88, of Coaldale, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, March 11, 2026 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Miners Campus. Born in Coaldale, he was the son of the late Louis and Josephine (Kurinec) Slakoper. He was self-employed general contractor doing construction throughout the aera until his retirement. He was a graduate of Coaldale High School Class of 1955. He was a member of the former S.S. Cyril and Methodious Church, Coaldale where he was an alter servicer.  He was also a member of the Lansford American Legion and a life member of the Nesquehoning Sokol Club. Louis enjoyed watching Nascar.

Surviving are a brother Joseph Slakoper of Coaldale; nephews Joseph Slakoper of Lansford and Todd Slakoper of Dubois Treasure Lake, and nieces Renee Slakoper of Lansford, JoAnn Pantages of Pittsburgh, Patty Ann Pestrock of Palmyra and Natalie Pestrock Murphy of Palmyra.

He was also preceded in death by a sister Pauline Pestrock.
