Louise Zuber Obituary

Louise A. Zuber

1939 - 2025

Louise Amelia (Whitehead) Zuber, 86, of Summit Hill, passed away peacefully in her home under the care of her devoted husband and loving sons on November 27, 2025.  She was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.  Thanksgiving will forever remind us of her love and dedication to her family.  We are deeply grateful for the staff of Maple Shade Meadows and St. Luke’s Hospice for their compassionate care.

Louise (Weezie) was born on May 14, 1939 in Coaldale Hospital, daughter of the late Horace and Mary (Whiteman) Whitehead and step-daughter of Clark Rohlfing.   She was an incredible storyteller, passing on entertaining memories of her childhood and school days.  She graduated from Summit Hill High School Class of 1957, where she was the head majorette for 3 years.  She married her husband, Stanley Zuber, on August 16, 1958, and dedicated her life to raising her four sons.  She was employed as a teacher’s aide for 10 years at St. Joseph’s School and she also worked in the garment industry.  She retired from Kay Jay’s factory in 1998.  She was a member of St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley.  She was also a member of the Summit Hill Legion Auxiliary. Louise was a meticulous housekeeper and talented baker, working magic in her small kitchen to carry on family traditions for decades.  Love was the ingredient she used most in her recipes.   For any special event or occasion, she filled the tables with her cookies.  The slightest chores to the biggest projects were done with the highest standard, instilling remarkable work ethic in her sons.  Of her many talents, mothering was her greatest skill.  She was a Little League Mom, a Teener League Mom, 12th Man Club Mom and Hoopster Booster Mom.  She loved to be in the company of children, spending countless hours telling stories from her special bird friend, blowing bubbles and counting pennies.  She never missed a game, and she loved basketball because she only had to watch five players.

Surviving along with her husband Stanley of 67 years are sons Stanley M. Jr. and his wife Leslie of Berwick, Mark and his wife Korry of Missoula, MT, and Christopher and his wife Sandra of Schnecksville; daughter-in-law Maureen (McConnon) Zuber of Nesquehoning; and Patty and John Coleman of Zion Groove; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Faye (Whitehead) Matyascik, her brother Wayne Whitehead, and her son Phillip D. Zuber.
