Lucia A. D’Ancona, 76, of Lansford, entered into eternal rest Friday, August 19, 2022 in her residence. She was the wife of the late Agostino D’Ancona who passed away May 09, 1992. Born in Magliano Vetere, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Ferdinando and Pasqualina (Matonte) D’Alessandro. She was employed as a seamstress for many garment factories until her retirement. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley, Summit Hill and previously a member of the former St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford. Lucia enjoyed shopping on QVC but especially loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are sons Claude and his wife Mellisa of Junedale, PA and Marco and his wife Gina of Nesquehoning; grandchildren Agostino, Vincenzo, and Isabella D’Ancona; and a sister Lidia D’Alessandro of Italy.

She was also preceded in death by her sisters and brothers Mauro, Remo, Bruno, Francesca, Maria and Nina D’Alessandro.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley, 462 W. Ludlow St., Summit Hill, PA 18250 with Rev. Robert George officiating. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, Summit Hill. Call Tuesday morning 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. in the Church. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted in her name to Wills Eye, 840 Walnut St., Philadelphia, Pa 19107. The Sverchek-Blazosky Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
