1942 - 2025
Marianne F. “Bunny” York, 82, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest Monday, February 24, 2025 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus. She was a daughter of the late John M. and Anna (Zonca) York. She was employed as a pediatric nurse in the New York Foundling Hospital. When she returned to Nesquehoning, she worked in various daycares throughout the area, and then worked as a home health care aid for the Carbon County Action Committee. She was a graduate of Nesquehoning High School Class of 1960 and a graduate of New York Foundling Nursing School. She was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church, Nesquehoning, the former St. Francis of Assisi Church, Nesquehoning and currently a member of the Catholic Churches of Jim Thorpe. Bunny enjoyed life to its fullest and did what she could to help anyone, but her greatest accomplishment was raising her son John.
Surviving is a son John York of Nesquehoning.
She was also preceded death by a sister Theresa York.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 10:30 A.M in the Immaculate Conception Church, 180 W. Broadway, Jim Thorpe, PA 18229 with Rev. Ronald Minner officiating. Music Preludes will begin at 10:15 A.M. Interment will be held privately in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Nesquehoning. Donations to the Joseph S. Blazosky F.H., 81 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, PA 18240 to help defray her funeral costs will be greatly appreciated. Online condolences can be offered at www.blazoskyfh.com.
