1935 - 2022

Marie Galgoci, 87, of Lansford, entered into eternal rest Sunday, December 11, 2022 in her residence surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Joseph M. Galgoci. They celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on Jan 9th of this year. Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Krutilla) Hosak. She was employed as a cafeteria worker for the Panther Valley School District for 23 years unit retiring. She was a member of St. John Byzantine Catholic Church, Lansford where she was very active in all church activities including making pirohi. She was a graduate of Lansford High School Class of 1953 and was also a member of the Greek Catholic Union. Marie enjoyed traveling but especially loved spending time with her family.

Surviving along with her husband are a daughter Andrea Gehringer and her husband Jim of Warminster, Pa; sons Michael and his wife Diana of Maryville, IL and Andrew and his wife Heather of West Jordan, UT; grandchildren Chris Galgoci, Nicholas Gehringer, Luke Galgoci, and Aaron Galgoci; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by sisters Anna Potichko and Irene Geusic and brothers Michael, John, Andrew, Peter, and Frank Hosak.

A Mass of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. in St. John Byzantine Catholic Church, 104 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, PA 18232. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery, Summit Hill. Call 9:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. in the Church.
