Marie L. Kemmerle

Marie L. Kemmerle, 79, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest Friday, January 12, 2018 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem Campus. She was the wife of the late Edward R. Kemmerle who passed away December 13, 2002. Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Stefanick) Cromyak. She was employed as an instructional assistant for the Lehighton School District until retiring in 2000. She was a former member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and now a member of St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley. Marie was involved in all Shrine of St. Therese Church functions, especially the Shower of Roses. She was a former member of the Nesquehoning Recreation Commission and she loved going to the casino with her friends.

Surviving are two daughters Christine Volanski and her husband Joseph of Slatington and Lou Ann Dorney of Philadelphia; brothers George Cromyak and his wife Theresa of Pottsville and Francis Cromyak and his companion Dorothy Kupetz of MaryD; grandchildren Patrick McAvoy and Kyle McAvoy and his wife Liz all of Nesquehoning; a great granddaughter Maura McAvoy; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a brother John Cromyak who passed away December 23, 2017.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018 at the Shrine of St. Therese at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 15 East Garibaldi Ave., Nesquehoning, with the Rev. Allen Hoffa officiating. Interment will be held in Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown.  Call Tuesday 6:00-8:00P.M. and Wednesday morning 9:00- 9:30 A.M. in the funeral home. Donations may be made in her name to O.L.M.C.
