Marie Yurchak, 89, of Tamaqua, entered into eternal rest Friday, December 27, 2024 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus. She was the wife of the late Ronald Yurchak Sr. who passed away July 16, 2018. Born in Coaldale, she was the last of 11 children of the late Jacob Sr. and Mary (Drozdak) Lorchak. She was employed as a Home Economics teacher for the Tamaqua School District until her retirement. She was a graduate of Nesquehoning Class of 1953 and then furthered her education and graduated from Albright College in 1957. She was a member of St. Mary’s Orthodox Church where was a past president of the Ladies Aide Society.

Surviving are sons Ronald Jr. of Coaldale and Gregory of Tamaqua; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her sisters Rose Lisella and Martha Teno and brothers Dimitri, Samuel, Walter, John, Peter, Theodore, Michael, and Jacob Jr. Lorchak.

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Orthodox Church, 217 1st St., Coaldale, PA 18218 with V. Rev. James Weremedic officiating. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery, Summit Hill. Call Tuesday morning 9-10:00 A.M. in the Church. Donations will be accepted in her name to St. Mary’s Orthodox Church, Coaldale.
