Martha L. Teno, 97, of Coaldale, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, May 31, 2023 in her daughter’s residence in Hometown. She was the wife of the late Nicholas (Kiki) Teno who passed away November 16, 2008. Born in Hauto, she was a daughter of the late Jacob Sr. and Mary (Drozdak) Lorchak. She was a homemaker and also was employed as a cook for the former Coaldale State General Hospital, Coaldale. She was a member of St. Mary’s Orthodox Church, Coaldale, where she was a past president of the Ladies Aid Society. She was a graduate of Nesquehoning High School. Martha enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening, but especially loved spending precious time with her family.

Surviving are a daughter Barbara Teno of Hometown; sons Michael Teno of Coaldale and Nicholas Jr. and his wife Tiven (Steigerwalt) of Mahoning Valley; a sister Marie Yurchak of Tamaqua; grandchildren Serah Cusumano and her husband Rocco of Franklin, GA, Stephanie Teno of New Port Richey, FL, Samantha Teno of Clearwater, FL, Kenzie Teno and her fiancée Heath Markley of Harleysville, PA, and Madison Teno of Atlanta, GA;  great grandchildren Chloe, Trenton, and Jacob Cusumano; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a grandson Joshua Teno, a sister Rose Lisella, and brothers Dimitri, Samuel, Walter, John, Peter, Theodore, Michael, and Jacob Jr.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Orthodox Church, 217 1st St., Coaldale, PA 18218 with V. Rev. James Weremedic officiating. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery, Summit Hill. Call Saturday morning 9-10:00 A.M. in the Church. Donations will be accepted in her name to St. Mary’s Orthodox Church, Coaldale or St. Luke’s Hospice, c/o Development Office 801 Ostrum St., Bethlehem, PA 18015.
