Mary Helen Rehatchek
1938 - 2025
Mary Helen Rehatchek, 87, of Lake Hauto, entered into eternal rest Thursday, October 16, 2025 in Maple Shade Meadows, Nesquehoning. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Rehatchek who passed away February 14, 2011. Born in Nesquehoning, she was a daughter of the late Michael J. and Mary (Tyahla) Sniscak. She was a graduate of Nesquehoning High School Class of 1956. She was employed as a union rep and inspector for the former Turner Tubes in NJ for 30 years until retiring. She also worked as a self-employed florist and in her earlier years worked as a gift wrapper for the former Brights Department Store in Lansford. She was a member of St. Richard of Chichester Parish, Barnesville and the former Immaculate Conception Church, Nesquehoning. Mary Helen was a member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lansford AMVETS and was a member of the Nesquehoning Historical Society.
Surviving are a sister Dorothy Atiyeh of Macungie; nieces Jennifer Ashley and her husband Paul, Janine Atiyeh, and Jenelle Atiyeh; nephews Robert Soltis, John M. Soltis, Joseph Ogozalek, and Tony Ogozalek; and nephew-in-law Mathew Grimaldi.
She was also preceded in death by a sister Margaret Soltis, a brother Thomas Sniscak, and nieces Mary Jean Soltis and Jayme Grimaldi.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, October 20, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Richard of Chichester Parish, 799 Barnesville Drive, Barnesville, PA 18214 with Rev. Robert T. Finlan and Deacon Edward J. Girard officiating. Interment will be held in Sky View Memorial Park, Tamaqua. Call Sunday 6-8 P.M. in the Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home, 81 E.
