Mary Frances Spisak
1942-2024
Mary Frances (Fran) Spisak, 81, of Lansford, entered into eternal rest Saturday, June 8, 2024 in her residence. She was the wife of Vincent T. Spisak. They celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on September 22nd of last year. Born in Lansford, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Michlo) Lukca. She was a graduate of Marian High School and was a member of the former St. Michael Catholic Church, Lansford and currently of St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley, Summit Hill. Fran’s main focus in life was ALWAYS her family. She has been an active part of all the lives of her grandkids since birth, caring for them and finding true joy in even the simplest moments with them. She was affectionately known as ‘Grum’, not just by the kids, but by many who knew her. Fran volunteered at the former St. Michael School, and the former Winnie the Pooh where she was honored with the first ever ‘Very Important Parent Award’. Fran loved to volunteer at the election polls as well and was a member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees, accompanying her husband, Vince, to many dinners and trips where she would love to mingle and socialize. She was a people person, who was always ready to lend a hand or give a kind word, always putting others first. She was a great cook and baker, and she would enjoy making desserts as treats to brighten someone’s day. Fran left a positive impact on everyone who’s lives she touched, and this was especially apparent during the difficult journey of the past year.
Surviving along with her husband are a daughter Mary Ellen and her husband Joseph Greco of Lansford; sons Vincent of Lansford, Joseph of Philadelphia, and John and his wife Janiel of Allentown; grandchildren Anthony, Thomas, Lucy, Emma, JP, and Sophia; and several nephews and a niece.
She was also preceded by sisters Margaret DeMarco and Anna Kupetz and a brother John Lukca.
