1943 - 2024

Mary Ruth Blisard, 80, of Lake Hauto, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 21, 2024 in her residence. Her loving sons at her side. Born in Palmerton on November 30, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Bretzik and the late Doris (Hochmiller) Zlock. She was employed as a seamstress for the former C & G Sportswear, Nesquehoning and then worked  in the Environmental Services Department at St. Luke’s Miners Hospital until her retirement. She was a member of the former Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Nesquehoning. She was a graduate of Nesquehoning High School and was a member of the Carbon County Senior Center. Mary Ruth, back in the day, was a scuba diver, dirt bike rider, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. More recently, “Grammo” enjoyed playing bingo, boat rides on Lake Hauto, and bus trips with her friends, but especially loved the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren playing at the lake.

Surviving are sons Ronald and his wife Karen of Lake Hauto and Robert and his wife Jamie of Hudson, FL; grandchildren Luke Blisard (fiancé Cortnee), Robert Blisard II, Ashley Moser, and Holly Keiper; and great grandchildren Ziyke and Xander Moser.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, April 26, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in the Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home, 81 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning with Pastor Marjorie Kieter officiating. Interment will be held in Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown. Call Thursday night 6-8:00 P.M. and Friday morning 10:30-11:00 A.M. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted in her name to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023 or the National Kidney Foundation, 2403 Sidney St. Ste 205, Pittsburgh, PA 15203. The Joseph S.
