Michael Dana Doolittle
1949 - 2026
Michael Dana Doolittle, 76, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest Monday, March 9, 2026 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Miners Campus. He was the husband of Patricia (Howell) Doolittle. They celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on May 30th of last year. Born in Elmira, NY, he was the son of June (Southard) Doolittle of Scranton and the late Dana C. Doolittle. He was employed as a mechanic, transmission and foreign car specialist, for several auto repair shops throughout the area, Kovatch Oldsmobile Garage in Nesquehoning, Horvat’s Garage in Lansford and Poole’s Auto in Jim Thorpe. Most people only new him as “Doc.” He was a United States Vietnam Navy Veteran serving on USS Boston. He was a graduate of Newton High School, New Jersey, Class of 1967 where he was a member of the band. Mike was a car and motorcycle enthusiast. Finally in his later years he had the chance to purchase his Harley and enjoy it for many years.
Surviving along with his wife and mother are sons Gregory and his wife Judy of Jim Thorpe and Christopher and his wife Kristy of Minnesota; brothers Kevin of Scranton, Sean of Tamaqua; and Kenton and his wife Patti of NJ; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter Michelle Doolittle on Aug 26, 2019.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. in the Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home, 81 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, PA 18240 with Pastor Kimberly Leskowich officiating. Family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10-11:00 A.M. in the funeral home. Military Honors will be rendered at the funeral home at 11:30 A.M. Online condolences at www.blazoskyfh.com.
