Michael T. Sniscak Sr., 92, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest Monday, January 29, 2018 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton Campus. He was the husband of Ann (Choley) Sniscak. They celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary on October 5th of last year. Born in Nesquehoning, he was a son of the late John and Anna (Pancoe) Sniscak. He was employed as an inspector for the State of Pennsylvania until his disabled retirement. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving during WWII. Mitch served on the USS Langley during which time he was in combat in 9 major battles in the China seas. He was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Nesquehoning. He was also a life member of the Nesquehoning Legion Post 172, a life member of Nesquehoning VFW Post 8008, and a life member of Nesquehoning Sokol Club.
Surviving along with his wife are sons Mark and his wife Nancy C. McGorry-Sniscak and Michael T. Jr. and his wife Marie all of Nesquehoning; sisters Elizabeth “Betty” McFadden, Rose wife of Tony Walck, and Louise wife of Anthony Mele all of Nesquehoning; grandchildren Michael III, Amber Shapiro wife of Todd, Holly Goff wife of Tom, and Melissa Fredericks companion of Brad Evans; great grandchildren Kaitlyn, Ariana, Augustus IV, Sean, Connor, Haydn, Cassidy, Stephanie, and Casey; great great grandchildren Julian and Aurora; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by brothers Joseph E. and John M.
A Memorial Service will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Interment will be held in Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown. Contributions will be accepted in his name to the Nesquehoning VFW Post 8008, 300 E. Center St., Nesquehoning, PA 18240. Online Condolences at www.blazoskyfh.com.
