Patricia “Patsy” A. Black, 86, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest Saturday, July 8, 2023 in Forest Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Weatherly. She was the wife of the late Robert “Blackie” Black who passed away March 2, 2015. Born in Lansford, she was a daughter of the late Norbert and Ellen (McLaughlin) Kunzweiler. She was employed as a crossing guard for the Borough of Nesquehoning, worked part time at the former Jim Thorpe Jail and also worked part time with the Carbon County Sheriff Department transferring women inmates until retiring. She was a member of the former Sacred Heart Church, Nesquehoning where she was a member of the Ladies Guild, a CCD teacher, and very active in all church fundraisers. She was currently a member of St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley. She was a member of the first graduating class of Marian Catholic High School in 1955. Patsy also helped run Bingo at the Nesquehoning Recreation Center.

Surviving are a daughter Patricia A. wife of William Mansberry Jr. of Summit Hill sons Robert C. Jr. and Timothy E. both of Nesquehoing; sisters Rose Mary Lower of Lehighton, Theresa Toth of Nesquehoning, Elizabeth Dimmick of Bethlehem; Ellen Stuckley of TN, and Cecelia Yanick of Lehighton; grandchildren Larry Jr., Alicia and her husband John, Jennifer, Nathan, Tiffany, and Colton; 9 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a son Lawrence and a brother Norbert Jr. “Sonny”.

A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2023  at 11:00 A.M. in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bloomingdale (Summit Hill) with Rev. Robert George officiating.
