Robert Pecha, 96, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Miners Campus. He was the husband of the late Barbara E. (Yackanicz) Pecha. Born in Nesquehoning, he was the last of 17 children of the late Stephen and Mary (Kopalek) Pecha. He was employed as a supply systems analyst for the Tobyhanna Army Depot for 30 years and then worked in the government shipping department of KME, Nesquehoning. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving on the U.S.S. Beatty. He was a member of the former Zion Lutheran Church, Nesquehoning where he was very active as the grounds keeper and a sexton. He was currently a member of St. John Slovak Lutheran Church, Lansford. He was a graduate of Nesquehoning High School Class of 1946. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.  Bob enjoyed the outdoors  - fishing, hunting, and picking mushrooms,  but he loved his gardening,  which won him several ribbons at the Carbon County Fair.

Surviving are daughters Ruth E. Kistler wife of Gary of New Ringgold and Barbara J. Cerimele wife of John of Lehighton; sons Robert W. of Florida, Erik J. husband of Stephanie of Florida, Jason R. of Connecticut, and Jonathan of New Hampshire; 13 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, and two wonderful neighbors Kathy and Willie Burns.

He was also preceded in death by sisters Florence Pecha, Olga Marsden, Sue Scasny, Stephanie Petrock, Emily Scasny, Helen Baranovich, Anna Petrock and Mary Petrock, brothers John, Stephen, Albert, Paul, Karl and Clarence and 2 infant children Amelia and Zuzanna.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in St. John Slovak Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St., Lansford, PA with Marjorie Keiter officiating. Military interment will be held in Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown. Call Tuesday night 6-8:00 P.M. in the Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home, 81 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning and Wednesday morning 10-11:00 A.M. in the Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
