Robert Hale Perkins

Robert Hale Perkins (Bob), 87, formerly of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest Friday, April 20, 2018 in the Summit Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Lehighton.  He was the husband of 49 years of the late Roberta Griffith Perkins who passed away November 28, 2006.  Born in Grayson County, Virginia, he was a son of the late Charles Edwin and Floy Belle (Richardson) Perkins.  Bob was a veteran of the Korean War.  After the war, Bob graduated from Strayer Business College and worked 40+ years in the transportation industry.  Bob was employed in management roles for Eastern Airlines for 35 years, retiring in 1988.  He subsequently worked for Hertz Rental Car until 1996.  Bob retired to Nesquehoning in 1999, after having previously lived in VA, MO, MA and NJ.  While living in Nesquehoning, he enjoyed participating in activities at the Carbon County Senior Center in Nesquehoning.

Surviving are daughters Katherine Perkins McGee and her husband Michael of San Carlos, CA, Patty Perkins Grenholm and her husband Stephen of San Francisco, CA, and Rosanne Perkins of Fort Lauderdale, FL; grandsons Steven Huddleston and Dennis Huddleston.

He was preceded in death by daughter Paula Perkins Huddleston; son-in-law Leonard Huddleston, brothers Herbert, Charles Jr., James, Ernest and Ira; and sisters Lillian Fowler, Trixie Winters, Zollie Fowler, Jesse Perkins, and Geneva Davis.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday April 24, 2018, at Meeds Memorial United Church, 126 W. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, with the Rev. Kimberly Leskowich officiating.  A Military Graveside Service under the direction of the Nesquehoning UVO will be held in Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown.  Call Tuesday 9:00-10:00 A.M. in the church.  Donations in his name may be made to Dogs on Deployment, www.dogsondeployment.org or 970 W.
