1938 - 2025

Rosemary E. Lower, 86, formerly of Philadelphia, Nesquehoning, and Florida, entered into eternal rest Monday, February 10, 2025 in the Forest Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Weatherly. She was the wife of the late William G. Lower who passed away January 25, 2018. Born in Lansford, she was a daughter of the late Norbert and Ellen A. (McLaughlin) Kunzweiler. She was employed as a crossing guard for the Borough of Nesquehoning, worked at her family’s restaurant, Kunzweiler’s, and was a nursing assistant for the former Gnaden Hutten Hospital, Lehighton until her retirement in 1991. William and Rosemary moved to Florida in 2003 and joined Lady of the Light Catholic Church where she was very active in all church activities. She is now a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Lehighton. Rosemary enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and dominoes, but especially loved the time spent with her family.

Surviving are daughters Doreen, wife of Louis LaRizzio of Lehighton, Gail Linn Strohl of Lehighton, and Michele Lower of London, England; sons William Jr. of Nesquehoning and Thomas Lower of St. Augustine, FL; sisters Elizabeth Dimmick and her husband William of Whitehall, Theresa Toth of Nesquehoning,  Cecelia Yanick of Lehighton , and Ellen Stuckley of Tennessee; grandchildren Elizabeth Arner, Louis LaRizzio, Scott LaRizzio, Christpoher Lower, Amy Galloway, Michael Lower, and Jennifer Grimes; 11 great grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter Franchasca Lower, a grandson Kyle Strohl, a sister Patricia Black, and a brother Norbert Kunzweiler.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 28, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. in SS Peter and Paul RC Church, 260 North 3rd St., Lehighton with Rev. Christopher M. Zelonis and Deacon Joseph C. Wilhelm Jr. officiating. Interment will be held in Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown. Call Friday morning 10-11:00 A.M. in the Church.
