Rudolph "Rudy" Phillips Jr.

1939-2022

Rudolph (Rudy) Phillips Jr., 82, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest Saturday, April 9, 2022 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Miners Campus. He was the husband of the late Dolores (Dee) (Zonca) Phillips who passed away July 5, 2007. Born in New York City, he was a son of the late Rudolph Sr. and Anna (Burzenski) Phillips. He was employed as an accountant for Cornell University and was also a doorman in New York City. He was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Nesquehoning. Rudolph and his wife Dolores were the founding members of the Nesquehoning Crime Watch. His favorite pastime was playing cards.

Surviving are a daughter Donna Slatus and her husband Robert of Brooklyn, NY; sons Robert of Nesquehoning and Gary and his wife Julie of Long Island, NY; a sister Loretta; twin brothers Ronnie and his wife Pam and Randy Phillips; three grandchildren Christopher, Cameron, and Ashton; and many nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by sisters Carol, Roberta, Francis, and Loraine and brothers Robert and Richard.  

A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, April 14, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. in the Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home, 81 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, Pa with Rev. Robert George officiating. Interment will be held in Sky View Memorial Park, Tamaqua. Call Wednesday night 7-8:00 P.M. in the Funeral Home. Online condolences at www.blazoskyfh.com.
