Samuel Sparich Jr.
February 9, 1941 – October 11, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a great man, Samuel Sparich Jr., beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who left us peacefully at home, on Friday October 11, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was the devoted soulmate and best friend of Josephine (Aguiar) Sparich for 62 wildly, wonderful years of marriage. Born in Coaldale, he was the son of the late Samuel Sr. and Rose (Pecoraro) Sparich. A lifelong resident of New Columbus, Samuel was an active member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. He dedicated his career as a welder at Mack Trucks and proudly served as the Fire Chief of the New Columbus Fire Company for many years. Known for his resourcefulness, he was a man of many talents, enjoying hunting, fishing, gardening, and tinkering. He used his hands for everything. There was nothing he couldn't fix. Samuel's spirit and generosity touched all who knew him. His family was his greatest joy!
He leaves behind a legacy of love as a proud girl dad to his five daughters: Rosemarie Martonyak, Simone (Tim Zuber), Mary Jo (Ryan Eidle), Jaime (Jeff Lazar), and Samara (Damian Knepper). His warmth and wisdom will be deeply missed by his cherished grandchildren: Jason and Joshua Martonyak, Sam Zuber, Collin and Kylie Eidle, Derek and Vanessa Lazar, and Sophia Knepper
He was preceded in death by his sister Mary Sparich; son-in-law Chris Martonyak; and grandson Antonio Zuber.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of his family. The Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.blazoskyfh.com.
