Sheryl Ann Harakal-Radocha
1955 - 2023
Surrounded by her nuclear family, Sheryl Ann Harakal-Radocha entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 23, 2023. Sheryl Ann, 67, of Summit Hill was born on October 14, 1955, to the late John E “Jack” Jones and the late Mary A (Gatens) Minichiello in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley and was the beloved wife of Thomas Radocha, beloved mother of Harmony and husband Roobhenn Smith, Tiffany Ann Harakal and fiancé John Drumheller, Thomas II, Jodi, and Matthew Radocha. In addition, she was the beloved Gramz of Bryan, Matthew, October, Emerald, Gunnar, and Nolan and the grandmother of Alexis and Morgan Eberly and Kassia Radocha.
She was a proud graduate of Marian Catholic High School, Class of 1974. As a child of God, she worked as a volunteer at Our Lady of the Valley as a secretary and computer teacher for many years and in her latter days as a private tutor helping to instill educational skills and Catholic values in her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. She was a vital member of the Summit Hill Softball Organization, where she served as its president for 10 years and also supported her son-in-law in reforming softball under the Anthracite Little League. Sheryl was an integral and active member of the community serving in many organizations that her children were involved in such as Our Lady of the Valley’s Home and School Association, CYO, Men of Marian, and Girl Scouts. She served as the Judge of Elections for the 52nd District, 1st Ward for several years in Summit Hill.
With a heart bigger than the earth, especially when it came to family, she welcomed you with a smile, greeted you with a warm embrace, and had a will to sacrifice for the loves of her life. She was a strong force with a soft heart. She was many things to many people, but to us she was/is our inspiration after battling cancer with every effort for 5 years while continuing to be the matriarch of our family circle. What she leaves behind is a lifetime worth of memories, core values, and beliefs instilled by all she encountered and a spirit that will never die. Who she leaves behind are a devoted husband in Thomas, loving daughters in Harmony Smith & Tiffany Ann Harakal and their families along with many others: siblings, in-laws, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews as well as her beloved dog, Angel-Baby.
She was also preceded in death by her first husband Brian W. Harakal and brother Robert “Farmer” Jones.
