Thomas Stephen Radocha, “Razz” 76, of Summit Hill, entered into eternal rest Sunday, January 07, 2024 at Eagle Rock Resort, Hazle Twp. He was the husband of the late Sheryl Harakal-Radocha who passed away July 23, 2023. Born in Lansford, he was a son of the late Josef and Stefania (Zaba) Radocha. He was employed as head of maintenance for Silberline Manufacturing Co. in Tamaqua for 40 years. After retiring he worked security for the former St. Lukes Hospital in Palmerton and lastly worked security for Eagle Rock Resort in Hazle Twp. He was a member of St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley, Summit Hill. He was a graduate of Lansford High School Class of 1964 and was a member of the Men of Marian.
A graduate of Lansford High School in 1964, Thomas took pride in being a Panther. He was an avid fan of sports, cheering on his Indianapolis Colts during football season and the Chicago Cubs during baseball season. As a young man, Thomas was an exceptional athlete playing baseball, basketball & football for his hometown. For over three decades, Thomas gave back to the community as a volunteer coach for Panther Valley youth football, Lansford Little League, Summit Hill Girls Softball, & Our Lady of the Valley CYO. Even after he “retired” from coaching, he was still coaching his grandchildren either practicing basketball or in the backyard playing baseball. He served as the Minority Clerk for the 52nd District, 1st Ward for several years within the Summit Hill Borough.
Loyal to his faith, devoted to his family, and dedicated to being a provider, Thomas was a man who lived his life to its fullest, embracing what it presented and finding the good with everything about it. To the world he was many things but to his family, he was the world. While he no longer stands with us in body, his love to helping your fellow person, his ingenuity to build, rebuild & repair and his work ethic have been passed along to those who he influenced the most. What he leaves behind is an infectious spirit that will live well in the children and grandchildren who he helped to raise. His favorite thing to do besides the calm of fishing was watching movies, reading anything historical and travelling with his family.
Surviving are sons Thomas S. Radocha and his wife Vanessa of Tamaqua and Matthew J. Radocha of Lansford; daughters Jodie L. Murphy and her husband Erin of Northampton, Harmony Lee Smith and her husband Roobhenn of Summit Hill, and Tiffany Ann Harakal-Drumheller and her husband John of Nesquehoning; sisters Eleanor Nihen of Summit Hill and Rosemay Nester of Lansford; a brother Stephen Radocha and his wife Dianne of Lansford, grandchildren Kassia Radocha, Alexis and Morgan Eberly, Bryan R. Smith, Gunnar, Nolan and Matthew Rehrig, October Lee and Emerald Marie Harakal-Drumheller, great granddaughters Priscilla and Taelyn; many nieces and nephews and his and Sheryl’s beloved dog Angel Baby.
