Thomas Daniel Sandri
1938-2021
Thomas Daniel Sandri, Sr., 82, of Coatesville, Pa, entered into eternal rest May 6, 2021 in Newport Meadows Health and Rehabilitation Center, Christiana, PA. He was the devoted husband of Karen (Greek) Sandri. They celebrated their 42th Wedding Anniversary last year.
Born in Coaldale, he was the son of the late Daniel and Dorothy (Pavlick) Sandri. He was a proud United States Army Veteran and the owner/operator of the former House of Wax Record Store in Tamaqua and Lehighton. He also owned Choice Distributor delivering snacks to local bars/restaurants.
A member of St. Peter Catholic Church, West Brandywine, PA, he was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, the West Penn Lions Club, the Tamaqua American Hose Company #1, and the Tamaqua Chamber of Commerce.
Tom enjoyed cooking. He was the chef for a Boy Scout Awards Dinner in Texas that his grandsons attended. Tom passed on his love of cooking to his grandson, Zach. He also cooked for Our Lady of Rosary Catholic Church, Coatesville. Tom had a love for music and was an active musician his entire life. He played and taught the accordion being a member of two different bands that performed at many fire company festivals and events. Another one of Tom’s passions was wood working. He made numerous fine wooden furniture pieces for many family members and friends.
Along with his wife, Tom is survived by his daughter Laura Famularo and her husband Ron Kitlas of Fort Myers, FL; a son Thomas D. Sandri, Jr. and his wife Shari of Red Oaks, TX; a sister Dr. Rozanne Sandri-Goldin and her husband Alan of Irvine, CA; grandchildren Zachary, Daniel, and Maria Sandri, Sabrina Kirk-Caldwell, Mitchell Caldwell; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, May 14, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in the St. Peter Catholic Church, 2835 Manor Rd., West Brandywine, PA with Rev. David Waters officiating. It will be live streamed on the Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home Inc. Facebook page. All those attending the services are required to wear a mask and follow all CDC regulations.
Interment will be held in St. John Byzantine Cemetery, Summit Hill the first week in June. The Sverchek-Blazosky Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Online condolences at www.blazoskyfh.com.
