William J. Hunsicker Sr.

William J. Hunsicker Sr., 71, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, January 2, 2024 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Miners Campus. He was the husband of Mary Ann (Drosdak) Hunsicker. They celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on October 18th of last year. Born in Jim Thorpe, he was a son of the late Robert O. and Lena A. (Alonge) Hunsicker. He was employed as a supply clerk for the former NJ Zinc Company in Palmerton and then worked for Silberline in Lansford until retiring. He was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Nesquehoning. He was a graduate of Panther Valley High School Class of 1970 and was a former member of the Panther Valley School Board for 8 years. He was very active in the Panther Valley Wrestling Program where he ran the clock and kept the book for several years. He was also a big supporter of President Donald Trump. Bill enjoyed watching the NY Mets, listening to Elvis Presley, gardening, and playing bingo but especially loved his time spent with his grandson Landon.  

Surviving along with his wife Mary Ann are sons William Jr. and Joel both of Nesquehoning; grandson Landon; sisters Rozella Susie Fredericks of Glen Burnie, MD, Linda Burns and her companion Sam Zlock of Nesquehoning, and Theresa Robin wife of Tom of Lehighton; brothers Robert and his companion Patricia Swartz, Michael and his wife Mary Theresa (Ricciardi), and Richard and his wife Ann (Ronemus) all of Nesquehoning; and many nieces nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 5, 2023 at 7:00 P.M. in the Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home, 81 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, PA with Rev. Robert George officiating. A viewing will be held Friday 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted in his name to the Panther Valley Wrestling Program, c/o the funeral home.
