William D. Knepper Jr.
1949 - 2025
William D. Knepper Jr., 76, of Lansford, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, December 31, 2025 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Joan Marie (Sweeney) Knepper who passed away April 26, 2022. Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late William D. Sr. and Mary (Lesko) Knepper. He was employed as a teacher for the Panther Valley School District for 33 years until his retirement in 2005. He was a graduate of Panther Valley High School’s Class of 1967 and a graduate of Bloomsburg University’s Class of 1971 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He was a former head track and field coach and a former assistant boys’ basketball coach at Panther Valley. He was of the Catholic faith and was a past member of the Lansford Borough Council. Bill was an avid Boston Red Sox fan who enjoyed his trips to the casino but especially loved the time spent with his family.
Surviving are a son Matthew and his wife Jeanne (McHugh) of Lansford; brothers Gregory and his wife Cheryl of West Lawn, PA and Jon of Allentown; grandchildren Caleb, Colleen, Brigid, Quinn, and Molly Knepper, Abigail and Dominic Oplinger, and Luke Dorshimer; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a son Mark Knepper and a daughter Nicole Knepper.
A viewing will be held Monday, January 5, 2026 from 5-7:00 P.M. in the Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home, 81 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, PA 18240. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted in his name to the Carbon County Animal Shelter, 63 Broad St., Nesquehoning, PA 18240. The Joseph S.
