William P. Hettrick
1968 - 2023
William “Billy” Patrick Hettrick, 55, of Lansford, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Thursday, June 22, 2023, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Orange, NJ he was the son of the late Margaret “Peggy” Joan (Frayne) Hettrick.
Billy was a devoted father (Pops), grandfather (Pop-Pop), brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.
Billy was employed for 36 years as a warehouse coordinator for Deer Park Water, Breinigsville, PA. His dedication and support towards his co-workers grew into respect, friendship, and love. This was evident as Billy received over 300 visitors (family, friends, and co-workers) during the last two weeks of his life. The patients on the 7th floor asked, “Who is the celebrity in room 7K-06?”
Billy was a member of the Lansford Legion Post 123 where he played in the pool and dart leagues.
In his youth, Billy was a sports enthusiast. He played baseball and football with the West Orange PAL, baseball, basketball, and football for Edison Jr. High, and was the starting Quarterback #14 for West Orange HS. Billy was best known as the #1 JETS fan. For 22 years he was a season ticket holder and never missed a game even if there was no hope of them getting anywhere. He also loved the NY Yankees.
Billy came into this world 2 months early and left way too soon. His memory will be in our hearts and thoughts FOREVER.
Surviving are a son Sean Hettrick of Lansford, PA; daughters Ashley Hettrick and her fiancé Jake Bernhard of Pottstown, PA and Josephine “JoJo” Hettrick of Lansford, PA; step-son Darius Bertolette-Torres of Pottstown, PA; sisters Peggy Ann Hettrick of Dover, NJ, Donna Farrelly and her husband Paul of Denville, NJ, Susan Dougherty of York, PA, Diane Hettrick of St. John Island, SC, and Mary Maksimow and her husband Victor of Budd Lake, NJ; grandchildren Camber, Aiden, Jordy, and Ella; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
